Memphis' Continued Decline

On full display here. The plan? To allow Memphis police officers to live outside the city limits:

Despite having the support of Mayor Willie Herenton, Memphis Police Department director Larry Godwin, the Memphis Police Association, Shelby County Mayor AC Wharton and the city's most powerful corporations, the council voted 7-6 along racial lines to kill the plan.

Memphis, you all have to let go of this racism. You can't get qualified applicants from within your borders. What are you afraid of?
