You Gotta be Kidding Me

So, the Gibson guitar factories here in TN got themselves raided the other day. Why?

According to Gibson:

“The Federal Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. has suggested that the use of wood from India that is not finished by Indian workers is illegal, not because of U.S. law, but because it is the Justice Department’s interpretation of a law in India. (If the same wood from the same tree was finished by Indian workers, the material would be legal.) This action was taken without the support and consent of the government in India.”
Remember that, gun lovers. Our government will raid you if you violate the law of another country.

Not good.

Thanks to Instapundit for the pointer, and for the link yesterday. I really should blog more.

Apparently, MARTIN GUITAR uses the EXACT SAME SUPPLIERS, FOLLOWING THE
EXACT SAME PROCEDURES, with the exception that they are big donors to DEMOCRAT candidates.....

Not surprised at all, Anon. I guess that this is the beginning of enforcement of other countries' laws, now that the Supreme court is using those foreign laws to determine ours.

Consteetution? We don' need no steenkin' Consteetution!
