Ladybugs!

They're everywhere! A couple of months ago, it was just at work, now they're all over the house.

I blame Bush Al Gore!

I blame Al Gore for a whole lot of things.

We've had them out here since October. I've become embarrassingly familiar with how they taste, because they keep climbing into my soda cans. We've all lost our senses of humor, and spend our evenings watching them smack into flypaper.

I take it there is no way to get rid of / control those little frakkers? Our apartment never saw a single one... our new house cannot seem to get its fill of them.

Actually, they're easy to control. Find the damp place on the south side of your house where they're hiding, and spray them. However, they're usually there because of prey (aphids, etc.), so getting rid of the prey will get rid of them, too.

That's why I haven't done much about them, I know they are a beneficial insect.

I like them, too. However, they get in my computer room and play chicken with my ceiling fan.

They lose... every time. TWOCK... TWOCK... TWOCK...

See, that is the funny thing, though - our house is on a good enough slope, there is no standing water, wetness, or much of anything anywhere near it, and so far as we can tell, there is no water intrusion into the house either.

And yet, every day, there are a few more upside down hemispheres at each window...

It's not really standing water they're after so much as dampness, still air, and shade.
