Not Sure What to Make of This

DeSoto declares state of emergency during white power conference

The DeSoto County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously today to declare a state of emergency beginning Friday in anticipation of possible disruptions during a white power conference in Olive Branch.

The state of emergency will begin at 8 a.m. Friday and continue for seven days. It allows county government to bring in additional law enforcement to cope with possible disturbances in association with the meeting of the European-American Unity and Rights Organization.

EURO is an organization with which David Duke, a fiery former leader of the Ku Klux Klan, is associated.

Don't get me wrong here - I know Duke is a magnet for trouble - but it sounds like they are adding fuel to the fire.

Stay away from southern Memphis/northern Mississippi this weekend, folks.

wow. I lived in that area all my life until we moved to Texas. Yeah, it'll probably be a good place to stay away from next week.
