Via Tennesseefree.com comes the news that the USS Kitty Hawk left Japan on its final voyage home.
Nathan McIntyre says:

Did they have sailors like this when you were in?

Not that I ever met.
Of course, I did most of my time before the days of mixed crews and women going to sea so the numbers of billets for Women were limited.
As the numbers of women in the navy has increased, the chances of some particularly outstanding examples being represented amongst the ranks has grown accordingly.
I served on the Hawk for 4 years. There were a few (female) lookers but none like that.
