Mass Murder Averted By Man in a Bar With a Gun

Not quite how the anti-gun politicians would have us believe:

Winnemucca police statement on bar shootings

The subsequent investigation lead detectives to believe that Villagomez entered the bar and at some point began firing multiple rounds. At least two of these rounds struck and killed the other two decedents, Jose Torres age, 20 and his brother Margarito Torres, age 19 both of Winnemucca. At some point during this shooting spree Villagomez allegedly stopped and according to witnesses reloaded his high capacity handgun and began shooting again.

It was at this point that the second shooter, the Reno resident, produced a concealed handgun and proceeded to fire upon Villagomez who succumbed to his wounds. The Reno resident was in possession of a valid Concealed Carry Permit issued through the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office.

I wonder how this could happen, seeing as most politicians feel guns in bars are a bad thing. They are when they are there illegally, but legally, not so much.

Found via Dustin, who comments:
The alleged mass murderer & his two dead victims were already dead by the time Police arrived on the scene once again proving that when seconds count, only the immediate responders are already on the scene, while first responders (Police) are only minutes away. This is further proof that gun free zones are a travesty that must be ended.
Sebastian notes:
Also of note that in most states, bars are gun free zones. In Nevada, they are not. Yet somehow, someone managed to think clearly and take action, at a place where we’re told that people won’t act responsibly.

And it doesn’t register as a blip on the national news.
Sad, but not surprising.

Unc points out:

Mass murderers stopped by armed citizens seems to be a theme. And another here.

In Tennessee, House Speaker Naifeh keeps killing the bill that allows handgun carry permit holders to carry where alcohol is served.

I guess Mister Speaker feels the right of someone to come in a bad bar and start killing people is more important the rights of those who would protect themselves from said killer.

I can't understand how they can continue their head-in-the-sand approach to gun laws with things like this happening all around them.

Very true. It's surprising the anti-gun politicians can even breath while spending so much time with their head in the sand.

Not to mention that for those who obey this stupid law, and still choose to eat at a place like Chili's that serves alcohol, their gun left in the car will be yet another 'illegal' gun for a criminal when they break in and steal it. The only safe place for your gun is on your body. I wonder why we never had 'school shootings' when guns were allowed in school. Jimmy Naifeh needs to be defeated immediately, the scum even claims to be a supporter of gun rights, HAH!
