An Interesting Read

Here is a list of what the VPC says is the use of .50 caliber rifles in crime. Of the 28 cases they list, about 80% say:

Police seized firearms

or

A 50 caliber sniper rifle was among the weapons found in their possession

Of course, the weapons were seized while serving a warrant for something else, or it was a case of a felon having possession. Only one was tied directly to a murder, according to what they have up, and that was in Mexico.

Of course, most folks reading things like

Petrosky, who was known to his friends as "50-cal Al," fired all four weapons, including the 50 caliber rifle, during his murderous rampage

might think the .50 was doing the killing, but trust me, the VPC would shout it to the heavens if it were so.

You can make any story fit your agenda if you try hard enough..
