The big knock on the Titans before the season started was the fact they lost their running back and their two top receivers. That's the main reason given for us going 8-8 (or worse) this year.
Let's see how that worked out:
Rushing
Titan LedDale White -303 attempts/1110 yards
Former Titan Travis Henry- 167 attempts/691 yards
Receiving
Titan Justin Gage - 55 catches/750 yards
Titan Roydell Williams - 55 catches/ 719 yards
Former Titan Drew Bennett - 33 catches/375 yards
Fromer Titan Bobby Wade - 54 catches/647 yards
Ok, that might not be fair to the receivers, so let's see what they did as starters for the Titans last year:
Drew Bennett - 46 catches/737 yards
Bobby Wade - 33 catches/461 yards
Yup, big loss there.
Running back Travis Henry? 1211.
101 yards better. I can live with that, spread out over 16 games, that 101 yards works out to 6.3 yards per game.
The Titans have room for improvement, no doubt about that. But, once again, the preseason "experts" are proven wrong.
