As the dust settles and the Dems take control of Congress, lotsa folks (myself included) feel there's a new offensive brewing. Gun rights are once again in the crosshairs of those who would disarm us.
Not so fast.
There won't be a big push for gun control for the next two years. Dems will play moderate and stay away from hot button issues. When they get the White House in '08, however, it's Katie Bar the Door, SHTF, EOTWAWKI, however you want to phrase it. If Democrats (and Bloomberg Republicans) take complete control of the .gov, we're in for a rough ride.
Not to say there won't be some moves in the direction of gun control via "common sense" measures. Here's what will be out there, soon:
-Who needs a 30-round magazine?
-What purpose does a .50 caliber rifle or pistol serve?
-Why do people need to manufacture (reload) their own ammunition?
I say this third one because any serious move toward gun control in America won't/can't be done by gun confiscation. There are too many people with guns in this country, it would be impossible to get them all.
It'll be done by taking ammunition out of circulation.
So hunters, reloaders, keep your eyes peeled. You're not excluded from gun control.
In the meantime, I think I'll go pick up that AK I've had my eye on....

Gook Luck on the AK!
Hopefully you don't live in a state where you have to register your firearms. Thankfully in NH, you do not have to register...yet.

Gun Confiscation
Gun confiscation would be a very bad idea. There are too many gun owners with the "cold dead hands" outlook, and mean it. It could start a civil war?
Better start stocking up on ammo now.

First they will go after hi-cap mags, then who knows?
I agree, ammo is our weak spot.
