This came to me in the shower this morning:
Many times I see or hear people questioning the "need" for a gun, or the second amendment in general. Chances are I'll never need to use a gun in self defense.
On that note, why do we need the 5th Amendment? It's very likely I'll never be on trial in a courtroom and be compelled to testify against myself, so why bother?
I'd like to write more, but it was a short shower.

Been thinking about this. Takes some time because my shower's are pretty short too.
I always compare concealed carry to a seat belt. The Second Amendment is the same sort of thing - a safety device that you hope never to need but know that if you do, you'll need it.
